In the international competition Baltic Taste Awards 2023, in the dairy product category, our developed and produced cheese, Cheesy Grill, was awarded a bronze medal as one of the best grill cheeses in the Baltics.

The food product competition Baltic Taste Awards 2023 took place in Riga, featuring products from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania competing for the title of the best. The best products were selected during blind tastings by an international panel of judges. The competition jury included: Lauris Aleksejevs (Latvia, head chef of restaurant Dia 36.line), Ēriks Dreibants (Latvia, head chef and owner of Pavāru māja in Līgatne), Dimitri Demjanovs (Estonia, President of Bocuse d’Or Estonia), Taigo Lepiks (Estonia, head chef of the President’s Chancellery of the Republic of Estonia), Rūdolfs Visnapū (Estonian Chefs Association), Deividas Praspaliausks (Lithuania, head chef of restaurant Amandus), Justinas Kapkovičius (Lithuania, ambassador of the Lithuanian Academy of Sustainability), Fridgeir Ingi Eiriksson (Iceland, owner of Eiriksson Brasserie, President of Bocuse d’Or Iceland), Arthur Kazaritsky (Denmark, head chef of the Michelin-starred restaurant Geranium), Peeter Pihel (Estonia, head chef of Fotografiska restaurant), Alain Hosterts (Luxembourg, director of the World Association of Chef Communities – chefs for Central Europe), Arturs Taškāns (Latvia, head chef of restaurant Akustika).

Cheesy Grill is the first grill cheese produced in Estonia, made in a meat processing company using local cream and cheese as its main ingredients. This grill cheese is not only suitable for grilling but can also be used in sandwiches, salads, and other dishes. The packaging includes three slices of cheese that do not melt on the grill or in the oven but become crispy after cooking.

“In Estonia, no other meat processing company has produced grill cheese. Since its introduction to the market, consumers have shown great interest in it, and what was initially intended as a seasonal summer product remains in the assortment all year round, as it can also be baked in the oven,” commented Simmo Kruustuk, Chairman of the Board of Nõo Meat Factory. “We are extremely proud of the product and the recognition, and we see that the new product also has significant export potential, as it can now be purchased not only in Estonian stores but also in Latvia and Lithuania. Moreover, last autumn, we expanded our range of grill cheeses with several new options.”
