Chicken Meat Skewers in Tomato-Basil Marinade Named Best Product

This year, the representative jury of Oma Maitse selected our chicken meat skewers in a basil-tomato marinade as Estonia’s best chicken meat product. In this year’s grand tasting, the jury evaluated 114 products across 24 categories. The winner received the Oma Maitse Lemmik recognition.

“The chicken thigh meat is skinless, and the skewers are deliciously tender. A slightly sweet aftertaste lingers on the tongue, but it is balanced by the basil. It has a true Mediterranean flavour with a well-balanced taste profile. With 2.8 grams of sugar per 100 grams of product, 80% chicken meat, and 6% tomato paste,” described the Oma Maitse jury.

This season has seen an increase in chicken meat consumption, which can be attributed to the favourable price-quality ratio for consumers and the recommendation of nutritionists to include more chicken in the diet.

“The winning product’s recipe emerged from an idea competition at a meat hackathon we organized last winter, and the first results are now available. Consumers like it,” said Kruustük.
